Dandina, Chairman of the Kanakadasa Shikshana Samiti, Gadag, and Member of the Food Corporation of India (FCI), Government of India.
Hailing from Abbigeri in Ron Taluk, Shri Ravindranath was born on October 1, 1972, to a family of illustrious social reformers. He is the son of Dr. B. F. Dandina, a pioneer of the educational revolution in North Karnataka, and Smt. Shakuntalabai Dandina. A Mechanical Engineering graduate (B.E.), he chose to dedicate his technical expertise and leadership to the cause of education and social upliftment.
Under his dynamic leadership, the Kanakadasa Shikshana Samiti has become a beacon of hope for students in this region. His administrative influence extends across several prestigious iinstitutions:
Beyond education, Shri Ravindranath has ventured into the creative arts to promote cultural values. Through Shri Bhimambika Cine Combines, he produced a biographical film on the life of the deity Itagi Bhimambika, showcasing his commitment to preserving spiritual heritage.
Carrying forward the political legacy of his father, Dr. B. F. Dandina, he has emerged as a significant leader in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He has been a vocal advocate for regional welfare, actively participating in the Kalasa-Banduri and Mahadayi movements to fight for farmers' rights. His humanitarian side was prominently visible during the COVID-19 pandemic, where he organized extensive food distribution drives for the needy across Gadag, Ron, and Hubballi.
Shri Ravindranath is supported in his journey by his wife, Smt. Sheela, and their three daughters. His family has a long-standing tradition of public service; his mother served as the Vice President of the undivided Dharwad Zilla Panchayat, and his sister as the President of the Ron Taluk Panchayat.
In recognition of his vast contributions to education and society, he was recently honored with the "Jayashri Samman" award at the Sirsi Sahitya Sammelana.
